Carol Head – Owner and President

An entrepreneurial executive with more than 25 years success driving revenue growth and creating operational efficiencies in technology, publishing, government, food service and new economy companies. A strategic planning and marketing expert with the ability to achieve short-term results and create long-term opportunities. A talented leader, communicator and motivator with success moving start-ups forward and facilitating change in larger organizations.

Prior to Oliver's, Carol was president of a management consulting firm, advising companies in the areas of strategic planning, marketing and business plan development. In the 1990’s, she served as senior vice president of marketing for Hollywood.com and BizRate.com/Shopzilla.com. Carol also spent eight years as an executive at the Los Angeles Times in a variety of marketing and strategy roles. She served as associate vice president of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.

Carol received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wellesley College and earned an MBA from Stanford University.

Carol has been active in community affairs, serving on the board of the Los Angeles Women’s Foundation and was a founding board member of Women’s Enews (www.womensenews.org). Carol is a founder and co-chair of Project Redwood (www.projectredwood.org), a new venture philanthropy fund which supports creative approaches to alleviating extreme global poverty. Carol also serves on the board of Women Thrive Worldwide (www.womenthrive.org) a Washington DC-based organization that helps shape US policies so that women in the developing world can lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

     

Leslie Boatwright – Vice President, Sales

Leslie is an accomplished businesswoman, a proven management and sales executive, with over twenty years of experience in driving sales and managing complex organizations.

Leslie was responsible for increasing sales five fold over a three year period for a significant player in the optronics industry. In that role, she developed and sold programs for both retail and wholesale customers.

Prior to that role, she rose from marketing product specialist to the top position as General Manager of an 800+ employee firm in the paper industry. Leslie is known for her excellent people skills, attention to detail, and her commitment to developing creative solutions to meet customer needs.

Leslie is an excellent cook and “foodie” who has relished bringing her professional sales and marketing skills into the world of artisan breads.


 

 
       

 

 

Henk Drakulich – Vice President, Operations

Henk Drakulich brings to Oliver’s a breadth of culinary and management food service experience.

Having spent most of his early life in Italy, he developed an early appreciation for great food and the freshest bread made from the best ingredients. After receiving his Business Management degree from California State University Long Beach, he enrolled in a culinary apprenticeship to become a chef.

Graduating with distinguished honor as National Apprentice of the Year, Henk continued his culinary education working as a chef at Marriott’s flagship hotel in London and at the acclaimed Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado. In his ten years in the kitchen, he has managed both small, independent operations and large teams of up to 50 culinary professionals.

After a short stint in food and beverage management, Henk joined the Oliver’s team to take on the bakery operations and lead its research and development program.
